This Privacy Policy explains how Tapchord ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Digital Souls Studios LTD, handles information when you use the Tapchord mobile app and this website (together, the "Service").
The short version: Tapchord has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server of our own. What you create in the app stays on your device. The only third parties involved are Apple or Google and RevenueCat, which handle Tapchord Pro purchases.
1. Information stored on your device
Your settings (such as instrument, tuning, handedness and sound), saved chords, progressions and chord sheets are stored locally on your device using the operating system's app storage. We never receive this information. It is removed when you delete the app, and it may be included in your own device backups (such as iCloud or Google backups) according to your device settings.
Sound is synthesised on your device. Tapchord does not use your microphone and does not record audio.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your name, email address or any other account details
- We do not use analytics, attribution or advertising SDKs
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
- We do not access your location, contacts or microphone
3. Purchases (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)
Tapchord Pro is sold as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment card or billing details.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore them on your other devices and keep subscriptions up to date. To do this, the app sends RevenueCat an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID, your purchase receipts and transaction history for Tapchord, basic device information (such as platform, OS version, app version, locale and storefront country) and your IP address as part of the network request. RevenueCat does not receive your name or email from us. Its processing is described in the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Apple's and Google's handling of purchases is governed by their own privacy policies.
When the app starts it contacts RevenueCat to check whether you own Pro and to fetch current prices, even if you never buy anything. These requests use the anonymous ID above and nothing that identifies you.
4. Photos and sharing
If you export a chord card, Tapchord can save the image to your photo library. It asks for permission to add photos only and never reads your existing photos. Sharing and PDF export use your device's share sheet, so you choose where the content goes.
5. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Like any web server, our hosting may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and running. These logs are not used to identify you or for marketing.
6. Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to help you, and we delete support emails when they are no longer needed.
7. Legal basis (UK and EEA)
We process purchase information to perform our contract with you (providing Pro), and support emails and website logs on the basis of our legitimate interests in helping you and keeping the Service secure.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because app data stays on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the app. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, or any other request, email support@tapchord.com.
9. Children
Tapchord is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Purchases by children are subject to the parental controls of the App Store or Google Play.
10. International transfers
RevenueCat, Apple and Google may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how Tapchord handles information, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change is significant, such as adding analytics, we will also say so in the app.
